How do I take the training?
Training is available via a Docker image download, a request for an AWS instance of the image or via classroom training.
How long does it take to complete the training?
The training takes about 1 to 1.5 days and can be completed at your convenience. The training is not timed but we do recommend those who start the training complete it fully, including the submissions of exercises for certification, within one week. Online AWS instances of Docker images are available for 1 week. The certification exercises are part of the training and can be completed within the 1 to 1.5 day timeframe.
I am just a developer or admin or data scientist, am I expected to complete all the courses?
Yes, the courses are meant to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Splice Machine platform. You do not need extensive or work experience in each of these areas to complete the training.
What do I get when I’m certified?
Aside from a sense of accomplishment and acknowledgment in the community, the certification demonstrates you have the requisite knowledge to use and implement Splice properly. Additionally, certified members also have access to additional content, support and events (coming).

How long is the certification good for?
The certification does not expire. We will continue to make changes to the certification program that may change the requirements of certification or provide additional content. We will notify all certified community members of changes to the program.
Is there a cost to the certification program?
The self-paced certification is free. There is a cost to classroom-based training and certification. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information
I’m a Splice Machine partner, do I need to be certified?
Yes, all partner team members must be certified before they can implement the product.
