Splice Machine Named in CRN Big Data 100 List
April 24, 2013

We’re proud to announce that Splice Machine was included, along with 24 other data management companies, in CRN Magazine’s inaugural Big Data 100 list. CRN has identified 25 vendors that have demonstrated an ability to innovate in bringing to market products and services that help businesses manage big data. The list consists of 3 categories: business analytics, data management, and infrastructure and services – with Splice Machine included within the data management category.
Now more than ever, businesses are struggling with the rapidly increasing volume, speed and variety of data being generated on a daily basis. They know that their data has potential to sharpen their competitive advantage, and that they are creating a ton of it, but how to get started and how to break it down into actionable insights is a whole different ballgame.
That’s why so many companies are adopting technologies that help them process and manage the data, while also tapping into it to develop intelligence about the markets they serve, as well as their own performance within those markets.
We’re at the forefront of the SQL on Hadoop trend with the Splice SQL Engine, our ANSI SQL-compliant database designed for big data applications. Built on the Hadoop and HBase stack, it offers the same scalability benefits as a NoSQL solution without having to rewrite existing SQL-based applications and business analytics tools. Plus, unlike other SQL on Hadoop solutions, the Splice SQL Engine is a full-featured, general-purpose database, not just an analytics-only SQL layer.
Big thanks to CRN for recognizing our Splice SQL Engine and for developing a (much needed) comprehensive list for those looking to harness the data at their fingertips.
